Welcome to Pineapple & Magnolia!

I'm Brittany, and I'm glad you're here.  A Georgia girl transplanted to Alabama, I'm a Christ-follower who loves to offer hospitality.  I'm passionate about India, orphan care, setting captives free and coffee.  This little lifestyle blog is my home on the internet.  So, grab a cup of coffee and sit a spell with me.

Behind the name...

Pineapples have long been a symbol of hospitality and a welcoming home.  In Colonial America, guests were charmed when a host placed a pineapple on the table or served it for dessert because it symbolized the utmost respect the host had for the guests.  It supposedly fostered friendliness and generosity.

Magnolia flowers (and trees) are the unofficial flower of the entire American South.  They signify sweetness and classic beauty as well as perseverance and strength of character.

To me, pineapples and magnolias together are the epitome of Southern hospitality.
